A Touch of Class

The connection your family
deserves and can trust.

"Taking Care of Mimi" was born from a simple belief: families navigating illness, recovery, or aging deserve a knowledgeable, compassionate guide, someone who speaks the language of healthcare and the language of love.

We are not a staffing agency. We are care navigators and advocates who stand between your family and an often overwhelming healthcare system, ensuring nothing is missed and no one feels alone.

From hospital discharge to weekly home check-ins, from accompanying your loved one to a specialist appointment, to walking you through a new diagnosis, we are there every step of the way, with expertise and A Touch of Class.

Our Story

How It All Began

This business was founded in honor of my late mother, Rita, known to everyone who loved her as Mimi. I attended every appointment, managed every medication, and coordinated her care across every provider.

Our Offerings

Every service, with A Touch of Class.

We handle the complexity of the healthcare system so you and your family don’t have to. Every engagement is tailored to your unique situation, needs, and goals.

Hospital Discharge & Home Transition

We attend discharge discussions and instructions at the hospital or care facility, then meet you or your loved one at home, an assisted living community, or another care setting. We help ensure everything is in place for a safe, smooth, and confident transition.

Care Coordination

We work directly with physicians, specialists, and care facilities on your behalf, helping coordinate care, improve communication between providers, and help ensure important orders and follow-up needs are not missed.

In-Home Services & Support Coordination

If your loved one needs an aide for certain hours, meal preparation or delivery, housekeeping, or physical therapy and other therapy services, we help you find and coordinate them, including providers who come to the home. We look at the whole picture, including safety at home, so your loved one is supported where they live and your family doesn't have to piece it together alone.

Support for Families Out of Town

Living far from a parent or loved one is stressful. We offer video consultations to understand your family's needs, ongoing updates by phone or video, and remote advocacy and guidance. If your loved one would benefit from a local nurse, we can help you identify local resources. We can't guarantee availability, but we'll help you look.

Medical Appointment Accompaniment

We attend medical appointments with you or your loved one, ask the right clinical questions, take detailed notes, and help translate complex medical information into clear guidance for you and your family.

Patient Advocacy & Family Communication

We keep families informed with regular updates on condition, care plans, and progress while advocating for dignity, safety, and individual needs throughout the healthcare journey.

Diagnosis & Procedure Guidance

A new diagnosis, procedure, or upcoming surgery can be overwhelming. We help you understand what to expect, what questions to ask, and how to prepare, with clinical expertise and a calming presence.

Regular Check-Ins & Medication Support

Regular nurse check-ins to review medications, recent health changes, follow-up needs, and any concerns that may need communication with the healthcare team. We help keep medication information organized and current, especially after appointments, hospitalizations, or changes in treatment.

The Experience

Peace of mind, finally within reach.

"Coming home after surgery with several new medications and a completely new routine can feel overwhelming for both the client and the family. Taking Care of Mimi helped organize the medications, explain what to expect, and create a routine that felt manageable. The support made the transition home feel much more comfortable and gave everyone greater confidence moving forward."
- A.S.

Navigating the healthcare system after a hospital stay, a new diagnosis, or a major procedure should not fall entirely on the family. We step in as your expert partner, so nothing is forgotten and no one is left wondering what comes next.

We coordinate between your loved one's providers, ensure follow-ups happen, check in regularly wherever your loved one resides, and keep the whole family informed, with every step handled with knowledge, care, and A Touch of Class.
